It is expected that both students and teachers alike will support this vision, enjoying lessons which promote wonder about the world, and a sense that this wonder can be developed through the learning of knowledge and skills.
To reach these aims, we will:
- Strive for academic achievement, encouraging students to use literacy and numeracy skills at all times to improve their geographical understanding and communication,
- Use out of classroom learning wherever possible, both on a school, local, and national scale. Each year group enjoys the opportunity to take part in Geography field trips.
- Deliver lessons which engage and inspire, using a range of teaching methods and learning styles,
- Encourage students to be independent learners,
- Monitor achievement regularly, intervening when necessary to ensure students achieve their full potential and progress,
- Ensure that all students know their current grade, target grade, and steps needed to progress,
- Encourage students to recognise the diversity of the world in which we live by teaching a range of different scales,
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and teaching at all times.
